ADDITIONAL PUBLIC MEETING

NACRO works on behalf of the Ministry of Justice to source and manage accommodation and intends to use 17 Hillcrest as “CAS-2 accommodation”.  More detail on CAS-2 accommodation can be found here – https://www.nacro.org.uk/services/nacro-community-accommodation-service-cas-2/

I have called an extra Parish Council meeting on Monday 6th May at 7.00pm in the Memorial Hall . This will enable the Parish Council  to be briefed  and residents to give their views.

I appreciate that Bank Holiday Monday is far from ideal but is the first available option as we need to give 3 days’ notice for Parish Council meetings.

The Parish Council has not been consulted. News of this only reached me Saturday and Paul May our Ward Councillor was only informed Friday afternoon.  I also understand nearby residents may not have been consulted. The deadline had already passed before we received notice and we need to urgently prepare a response to B&NES.

I have very little other information. Hopefully, Cllr Paul May will fill us all in with more details at our meeting and he is trying to get as many facts as he can before we meet.
