The Government has introduced new requirements as part of the response to the Coronavirus pandemic. One of these requirements is for premises to display a NHS generated QR code which enables users of the premises to scan the code using the NHS Covid-19 App. This will assist the tracing of coronavirus and stop its spread.

Premises that are legally required to display an NHS generated QR code include museums, art galleries, attractions open to the public, public libraries, community centres, village halls and youth centres.

The QR code poster must be displayed in a prominent location.

If a customer doesn’t scan in or is unable to scan in, you should encourage them to provide their details to you and record these in written form. Details should be retained for 21 days in line with GDPR requirements.
